Smolder: Whatcha looking at Silver?
Silverstream: The Weather! The winds are dying down!
Gallus: Oh, neat! We can go flying again soon. It’s been way too windy to go out and soar lately.
Silverstream: Yuh-huh! It’s going to be amazing!
Ocellus: Count me out. I have the library fireplace and my reading list to keep me company.
Yona: Yona don’t mind wind. But Yona too tired to leave Room. Too much sweeties…
Sandbar: Shouldn’t have scarfed them all down when I shared them with you all then! Only yourself to blame.
Ocellus: Isn’t that a little harsh to a… clock?
Silverstream: Yeah! Who knows, maybe your life one day will depend on being awake at certain times on the dot!
Gallus: The day I decide to tie my life down to a… ugh… schedule… is the day I hang up my sketchpad.
Smolder: Besides, you couldn’t wake up on time to save your life.
Gallus: Righ- hey! I can wake up on time If I want to!
Sandbar: Dude, you are impossible to wake up without a loud noise. It’s like you turn off your ear…flap…things.
Silverstream: They’re just called ears, silly!
Yona: Well bird ears look weird compared to Yak ears! Pony ears look alright, but stick in wrong direction.
Smolder: Starting off the year on a tangent… yeah, this will go well.
Ocellus: I have a headache already.
Sandbar: Does this mean we need to do one of these for each celebration?
Ocellus: Well we celebrate Hearthswarming anyway.
Yona: Yona would like to do one for Snilldar Fest!
Smolder: I really doubt it’d make much headway in the Feast of Fire either. It’s a few weeks out regardless.
Silverstream: I’m sure manygriffs know about Hearthswarming at Mount Aris! But the Three Days of Freedom Celebration is pretty crammed as it is! Not that I don’t enjoy doing more songs!
Gallus: Yeeeeah. No. Not even going to try this in Griffonstone. They’ve improved, but still grumpy.
Students will return in the new year on the 6th of January. Happy Hearthswarming! <3
Smolder: No.
Sandbar: …Pretty Please?
Smolder: Let me think ab- No.
Gallus: Aren’t you cold, Silver?
Silverstream: Freezing!
Gallus: So why don’t you put on a scarf or hat… or something?
Silverstream: That ruins the point of the cold! If I’m warm, then the cold I touch will be less cold. And we want it to be cold!
Ocellus: I really doubt you putting on a hat and scarf will contribute to a net increase in temperature.
Yona: But friend Silverstream does not have net
Ocellus: No, I mean-
Smolder: Good idea Yona! Let’s get a net and scoop up this snow! It’ll make a great way to ambush somecreature!
Sandbar: That pun was snow terrible.
Ocellus: *pouts* I tried!
Gallus: I blame the cold.
Smolder: Strange that the most dictionary-like of all of us struggles at word-plays.
SIlverstream: Huh? I thought it was funny!
Yona: So did Yona!
Ocellus: Humph! At least I know who here appreciates me *throws a snowball at Sandbar*
Smolder: I’ve got an extra pad of post-it notes we can use!
Ocellus: You know, I’m right in front of you. If you need to tell my anything, you can say it.
Silverstream: *giggles* I know! But it’s fun. Your horn is so spiky I just want to poke and prod it.
Gallus: Plus, as demonstrated, makes an amazing note-collection.
Sandbar: Huh, who put the recipe up here? What did it make?
Ocellus: Pancakes.
Yona: Yona wondered where paper went. Yona wasn’t able to finish her baking for ages!
Ocellus: I’m sure it would’ve just ended up on my face as well… *humphs*
Sandbar: I DON’T NEED PREENING PRACTICE!
Yona: So Dragon no want preen?
Smolder: Well you’re welcome to give ‘em a massage if you’re bored. Muscles are muscles.
Yona: Yona gives best massages, Smolder will see!
Gallus: Isn’t preening a sort of…. intimate… thing though? Why would creatures openly ask to preen or be preened?
Silverstream: Wait… really? It’s a normal thing in Hippogriff culture! Everygriff helps each other! Flying is so important! Gotta look after ourselves! What about you ‘Celly?
Ocellus: Changeling wings are quite fragile but they can repair themselves very quickly! We’d still prefer not to damage them to begin with though.
Yona: Yona thought Silverstream grew up as Seasausage.
Ocellus: -Seapony-
Silverstream: I did! Well, that didn’t stop me from sneaking back onto Mount Aris on occasion. I got told off a lot for doing that!
Smolder: You snuck away from your family for cookies?
Silverstream: Well you can’t get cookies underwater! They get all soggy.
Gallus: I quite like soft biscuits.
Sandbar: Myeh. I prefer the crumbly ones myself.
Gallus: Try preening feathers caked in crumbs and you’ll find a whole new appreciation for my preference.
Sandbar: I’ll get right on that with the wings i don’t have. *rolls eyes*
Ocellus: Awww Yona! *hugs the Yak* I didn’t know the blanket was so dear to you.
Gallus: I guess it’s normal for most creatures to have something like that which they value deeply from their cubhood.
Yona: Yes! Always good to have something from when young or when away from home.
Smolder: I didn’t have something like that. Granted - flammable objects
weren’t popular in the Dragonlands - at least not in the way you’d think
they would be.
Silverstream: Oooooh! *peers closely* Do youuu have a blankey Gaaaallllus?
Gallus: Huh? No! Gerrof’ me.
Sandbar: Hah! You totally do! Quick Silver! Let’s go raid his room!
Sandbar: Hey, isn’t that Yona’s blanket?
Silverstream:: Yuh-huh! Yona lent it to Ocellus. the poor girl looked frozen to bits!
Gallus: I don’t get it. Why don’t you just transform into something warm. Like a Dragon, or a Polar bear?
Ocellus: Cold temperatures, for some reason, mess with Changeling magic. I could change but I can’t get it completely right.
Yona: So changeling would turn into a bald bear?
Ocellus: Not exactly. Just I wouldn’t feel any warmer than I do now!
Smolder: And I guess you’d not feel any better as a Dragon too
Ocellus: No, I just get heartburn from being a Dragon.
Smolder: I cannot tell if you’re joking or not under all that wool.
